Harrogate's housing is grander and later than most of our patch: Victorian and Edwardian townhouses around the Stray and Montpellier, big interwar family houses out towards the Duchy estate, and solid post-war housing at Starbeck, Bilton and Pannal.
What that means in practice is that we are rarely looking at a kitchen that has failed. We are looking at a kitchen that was expensive fifteen or twenty years ago, is still perfectly sound, and is wearing a cream, a heavy oak or a high gloss that has simply gone out of fashion. Nothing about the carcasses, hinges or layout justifies a skip.
Harrogate is also where we are most often asked to match a kitchen to the rest of a house that has already been decorated to a scheme. That is a colour matching job as much as a spraying one.
How It Runs
Forty Minutes, Two Trips
Distance is the obvious question, so here is the honest answer: it does not change the price much, because the doors travel and we do not. One collection, one return, and the removable parts are sprayed at Cross Hills either way.
What it does change is scheduling. Harrogate collections get grouped where we can, so there is sometimes a few days' flexibility either side of a date rather than a same-week turnaround.
Around ten days from collection to refit remains the norm. Carcasses and frames are masked off and sprayed in place on the refit visit.
