A Town That Knows Cabinetry
Thomas Chippendale, whose name ended up on a good share of the furniture in Britain, was born in Otley in 1718. It is a pub quiz fact rather than a sales pitch, but it does sit neatly beside what we actually do here, which is keep well made cabinet doors in service instead of throwing them out over a colour.
The town itself is stone terraces and yards around the Market Place and Kirkgate, Victorian housing spreading out from there, and later estates climbing towards the Chevin. Wharfemeadows and the river side of town carry some larger period houses.
The Chevin-side and Pool Road housing is later and more standard, and those kitchens respray for the usual reason: nothing is wrong with them except that the colour dates the whole room.
How It Runs
Thirty Five Minutes, One Round Trip
Otley is far enough out that the doors travelling rather than the sprayer travelling really matters. One trip over to take them off, one trip back to refit, and the booth work in between happens at Cross Hills.
We spray kitchen doors, drawer fronts and freestanding furniture the same way and to the same standard. If there is a dresser or a set of bedroom units you want doing at the same time, it goes in the same batch rather than becoming a second job.
Around ten days from collection to refit, with the carcasses and frames masked off and sprayed in place when the doors go back on.

Colour Down the Valley
