In Bingley
Built to Last, Looking Nineties
Bingley runs from stone terraces near the town centre and the Five Rise Locks up to the larger houses at Gilstead and Eldwick, with a lot of interwar and post-war semis filling the space between.
The semis are where the work is. Big picture windows front and back, patio or French doors onto the garden, and a porch or a conservatory on a good number of them. They were reglazed in the nineties and early two thousands, which is exactly when burgundy, rosewood and other woodgrain finishes were at their most popular.
None of it has failed. The frames are heavy, well made and sealed. They are simply wearing a colour that places the house in a decade, and there is a lot of surface area doing it.
Between the two sits a lot of nineteen-thirties semi with a curved or square bay at the front. Those bays carry more frame per square metre than anything else on the street, so they are the element that most obviously dates the house and the one that repays a colour change fastest.

How It Runs
Easy to Schedule, Easy to Reach
The Aire Valley run is short, so Bingley collections and start dates are easy to arrange and rarely need a whole day building around the travel.
Frames, doors and any conservatory or porch are sprayed where they stand. Nothing is removed and the glazing is not disturbed, which on a patio door is the difference between a two day job and a rebuild.
Two to three days for a typical semi doing front and back, including the patio doors.
Conservatories and porches are common here and they are usually the worst of it, because they are all frame and take sun on every side. We price them with the house rather than as an afterthought.

Getting Off Woodgrain
Woodgrain is the hardest thing to leave behind by halves. A burgundy door beside newly sprayed grey frames looks unfinished, so the honest advice in Bingley is usually to do the lot in one visit rather than a piece at a time. Greys, anthracite and soft blacks all cover a dark woodgrain cleanly. We work to RAL and British Standard, so if you have already changed the garage door we can match to it. The coating is made for exterior uPVC, it is UV stable, and it carries a 10 year warranty. Dark colours over a dark woodgrain are the easiest covering job we do and the most durable.
Photographs of the front and back, including the patio doors and any conservatory, and we can price it. Quotes are free. The full process is on our upvc spraying page.
