In Harrogate
Good Frames, Dated Colour
Harrogate's housing is grander and later than most of our patch: Victorian and Edwardian townhouses around the Stray and Montpellier, big interwar family houses out towards the Duchy estate, and solid post-war housing at Starbeck, Bilton and Pannal.
The uPVC that went into those houses was rarely the cheap end. Wide bays, tall openings, bay roofs, French doors and a lot of glass, generally well fitted and still working. What has aged is the specification: white, or the mid-nineties woodgrain that was sold as a period-sympathetic alternative and now dates a house more precisely than white ever did.
Because the openings here are large, the cost gap between spraying and replacing is at its widest. A bay is one price to spray and a considerable one to replace.

How It Runs
Grouped, Because the Distance Is Real
We group Harrogate work where we can, so there is sometimes a short wait for a start date. It does not change the price, because for uPVC nothing travels: the team and the equipment come to you and the job happens on your elevation.
Everything is masked and sprayed in place, including the glass edges, the sills and any decorative trims on a bay. Large openings mean more masking rather than more spraying, and the masking is most of the skill.
Three days is typical for a house with several bays. A door on its own is a day.
Bay roofs, decorative trims and any railings or a garage door in the same frontage are worth doing in the same visit. The team, the masking and the access are already there, so the marginal cost of the extra elements is small.
“Recently moved house, however the composite door was so badly faded. I got in touch with Chameleon spray painting and i can honestly say I am so pleased I did. The whole door and frame have been spray painted, including the gas/electric meter boxes. It has made such difference and looks absolutely amazing just like new. I would highly recommend.”

Colours & Finishes
Matching a Scheme That Already Exists
Harrogate is where we are most often asked to match something rather than choose it: a colour already on the railings, the garage door, a neighbouring property in a terrace, or a scheme a decorator set inside. That is a matching job as much as a spraying one. We work to RAL and British Standard, and matching an awkward shade costs no more than picking an easy one. The coating is an exterior uPVC system, UV stable and warranted for 10 years. On a house with this much glazed frontage that warranty is doing a lot of work, because redoing it is not a small job.
Photographs of each elevation will get you a price. For a large house with several bays we would rather come and measure properly, and that visit is free. The full process is on our upvc spraying page.
